Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department Episode 1 Review

Power rangers from the villain's perspective?

Something different this Winter season is Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department, following the story of a scientist and her creation. Animated by Quad. Please enjoy our Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department Episode 1 Review.

So the episode starts off with a montage of how all the other villain groups are being beat by power rangers for some reason? The dark-ish tone changes straight away after the opening when people start presenting their monsters.

Not sure where they are going with this, but they pitch this horrible-looking dino/dragon monster with a sword… I think it’s supposed to be funny, but it isn’t. This goes all over the place and randomly they are in a battle with the strongest henchmen of the boss, but instead of targeting the monster, he targets the scientist who made the monster and then randomly pops back into the meeting.

of course, the monster is rejected and the girl goes back to the lab, but the henchmen comes in a bit later as well and is concerned about what’s happening in the lab. Instead of talking down on them, he says they worked too hard and could have pushed the deadline… not sure if this is supposed to be funny again because again, it isn’t.

they start creating their 2nd monster, its some “cool” (it’s really not) looking wolf monster and simulate battles with it that he easily wins. When his body is finally finished, its not a male body, it’s a cute wolf girl with massive boobs… all because the boss walked in and wanted her to look like that.

At this point, I realized halfway into the episode that the girl in the middle of the poster and focuses on in the poster isn’t the main character, but the scientist… there is another 20-second skit where she puts on the monster costume and is against the power ranger, not really any reason for it, it’s just there.

earlier the scientist meets a guy that is interested in her, turns out, he is the fricking power ranger, and at this point, I finally saw something in this anime that I honestly already had written off.

during the after credit scene, the wolf and power ranger are in a fight, but for some random reason that is supposed to be funny again, she turns completely naked… and says “it’s not a bug, it’s a feature”… I’m so done with this show already…

The theme song is so nice, it has a cool montage and it just is so chill while at the same time being so energetic. It’s totally different from what I expected from watching the start because it was so grim, but the opening is the total opposite of that

SUMMARY

It's so bad, i had to drink to make it even the slightest bit enjoyable, the bits that are supposed to be funny are just not funny at all and the character you think is going to be the main character isn't even the main character. The only thing that was enjoyable about this anime is the upbeat music throughout the episode.
