What is Psycho-Pass about?
Psycho-Pass is a Japanese anime series that takes place in a dystopian future where society is governed by a powerful computer system known as the Sibyl System. This system is capable of measuring a person’s psychological state, personality, and the probability of them committing a crime. Based on these measurements, individuals are assigned a “Psycho-Pass” score, which determines their potential threat to society.
The story follows Akane Tsunemori, a young woman who joins the Public Safety Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Division, which is responsible for apprehending criminals who have become a threat to society based on their Psycho-Pass score. Along with her team of detectives, Akane uses her intelligence, intuition, and training to solve complex cases involving individuals with dangerously high Psycho-Pass scores.
